Mashups

I spent quite a bit of time searching the Flickr Colr Pickr mashup.  Not sure why or how it could be used in a practical application, but maybe that's not the point - just a heckuva lot of fun choosing different color schemes.  I also enjoyed Flickr Speller - guess the visual aspects of both of these sites appeals to me.  The color mashup made me think of the big box of crayons that I used to love as a kid.  If only I had an artistic streak...

Flickr Fun

Spent some time searching Flickr, and quickly found myself drawn in to the web site.  Pretty cool to be able to search photos this way...but I do have to wonder who has the time to post photos, blogs, etc.  I can definitely see the appeal, but it's a time consuming process (or else I'm just too old to "get it" - that's depressing...)
Since I'm a cat person and a bibliophile, I had to find a photo of both, and guess what, it wasn't too hard!  Now, an aardvark in a book store might be a different story...

Here it goes...

So, my first blog.  Why is it so easy to think of things to say when reading other blogs, but as soon as a blank page faces me, my mind becomes a blank slate?  Good thing I have something to blog about: the 7 1/2 habits of highly successful lifelong learners.  The questions posed are: what is the easiest habit and what is the hardest habit for me.  Well, if I don't say that "play" is the easiest habit, then something is seriously wrong!  Now for the hardest...hmmm...I've always loved the learning process, so much of what is described in the 7 1/2 habits seems natural, but I suppose that "creating my own learning toolbox" is the most challenging.  There are many things I'd like to learn how to do, but I'm not always good at gathering and organizing the tools to help me.  Perhaps Discover 2.0 will direct me to the gods and goddesses of toolbox management...
